SHERMAN, Texas (July 27th, 2024) – The Sherman Shadowcats dropped game two of a four game series on Saturday as they fell to Joplin 17-5.
The Shadowcats got off to a hot start early in the game as Easton Ford (Redlands CC) hit a two run home run. Tyler Carnes also began the game well on the mound as he delivered two three up three down innings.
Sherman led 2-0 going into the fourth where Joplin scored 12 runs to take a 12-2 lead.
Joplin continued over the course of the next three innings scoring five runs as Sherman scored three runs as Anderson Acinger (LSU-Shreveport) hit a solo home run and two more runs came in the fifth making the final score 17-5 as Joplin completed the run rule.
The Shadowcats fall to 20-31 while Joplin advances to 29-25. Sherman and Joplin play a double header Sunday, July 27, with the first pitch at 3:05 p.m.
